Chopped dates sauted in ghee and mixed with crushed biscuit and rolled and sliced..
Now its time for challenge in Muslim food bloggers…and this is the second challenge in this group..This time is to cook with a core ingredient ‘dates’..as we know dates are very good for health…Actually I couldn’t plan well for this challenge as am on vacation but still I don’t want to miss it so prepared to post something quick and easy…..so prepared ahead and kept all ready for posting on time….
Actually this is one of my favourite recipe prepared by mom when we were small…my mom used to make these a lot and store it a way to make us eat dates ….when I was small I don’t prefer eating dates alone so she would make these rolls by mixing chopped dates with crushed biscuits …That crunchy roll would make a quick snack .Having these anytime a day would be an energy boosting and this would be better snacking for those who are anemic .as its full of dates…This is a super easy recipe the only time required is chopping the dates and refrigerating the rolls to set
Now let’s get into the recipe
Prep Time | 5 minutes |
Cook Time | 5 minutes |

- 2 cups dates pitted
- 1 packet marie biscuit
- 2 tbsps ghee butter /
- 2 tbsps sugar
Ingredients
|
|
- Chop the pitted dates finely or just pulse it in mixer..
- Just crush the biscuit don't make it powder you need to get the crunchy pieces in between
- Heat a pan add ghee/butter the add the chopped dates and sugar and saute for 5 minutes until the dugar is melted and combined with dates.(sugar is optional if you are enough with the sugary tastes ofdates then leave the sugar just saute the dates in ghee)
- Then add the crushed biscuit to the dates mixture and mix it well and roll into a cylindrical shape and cover tightly with foil paper greased with ghee and refrigerate until it is firm for 1 hour
- Then take out the roll from fridge remove the foil and slice it and store in airtight container ...
That’s something new and interesting…..Would love to try these soon…
